Water

"Water Water everywhere and nor drop to drink" is the famous quote from The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Alas, with global warming and rising sea water levels it is becoming , not only true in many countries but, probably the biggest threat to mankind in the 21st century.

One day our ancestors will shake their heads in amazement that some people now use over 200 litres of fresh drinking water, contaminate it with toxic chemicals and allow it to flow into the drains just to keep their vehicles boats and vans shiny.

We understand that the family vehicle is probably the largest expenditure anyone makes after the family home but would you buy an extremely expensive watch and wash it with a hosepipe. Most cars now are more computer than mechanics. Would you point a hosepipe at your pc because the casing was dirty?.

The irony is that water is not even an efficient way to remove traffic film. A bucket collects grit which scratches, pressure washers chip the paintwork and damages the tyres as well and hitting it with revolving brushes is just plain stupid.
